These covered passageways connecting Avenida de la Vaguada and calle Orense are currently dark spaces that feel unsafe.
The work will seek to find a common theme by treating the roof, the ground and the pillars. Several interventions are proposed, but all have the following elements in common.
Brighter and more active spaces will be created, bringing vegetation into a space that is lacking natural light. The entrance is also to be increased, whether by means of the paving all the way to the calle Orense, using a special treatment at each access point, or by extending the roof of the stairs (using vegetation or pergolas).
The aim of this is to spark the interests of pedestrians on calle Orense as to what is going on in the AZCA block. What’s more, by bring in more activity and people to the spaces, the sense of danger will subside, as will the inappropriate use of the facilities.
