RENAZCA has promoted a citizen participation survey called “Inspira AZCA“, aimed at neighbors, visitors, workers, retailers and entrepreneurs to learn about their concerns and ideas for the revitalization of AZCA’s public space.

The participation survey began on September 7th and ended in November 24th 2020.
CITIZENS VIEWS
Integral Reform
98% of participants believe that AZCA needs an integral reform for its revitalization and regeneration.
RENAZCA Initiative
90% welcome the initiative promoted by Renazca.
Urban Reforms
88% believe that the urban reforms that have been developed in recent years are not enough.
AZCA’s Public Space
Most of participants believe that the public space of AZCA should be more open and accessible with fluid communications between its areas and the convening of outdoor cultural activities.
Urban Integration
83% consider important to improve the integration of AZCA with Orense Street and with Paseo de la Castellana.
Space Uses
Among the uses to be promoted to reactivate AZCA, they highlight cultural, leisure, sports and green areas.
AZCA’s Image
Currently AZCA is identified as:
- the financial and business center of Madrid
- an unsafe and dirty area
- an underutilized area in the city
Services to be Improved
Within the services to be improved, most of participants consider important:
- Cleaning services
- Maintenance and conservation
Main Problems
The main perceived problems are the deteriorated, dark and tortuous areas, the lack of maintenance of the public space and insecurity.
