A team formed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro (USA), Gustafson Porter + Bowman (UK) and b720 Fermín Vázquez (Spain) that brings together unique expertise, complimentary design methodologies, and an extensive history of transformative, internationally recognized public space projects.
Founded in 1981, DS+R is a New York design studio that spans the disciplines of architecture, landscape, visual arts, exhibition design and technology.
DS+R has designed two of the largest architecture and planning initiatives in the recent history of New York City: the High Line, one of the world’s most emulated public spaces for its re-purposing of a 2.4 km long elevated train tracks into a vibrant park; and the renovation of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, which transformed the barren and fortress-like complex into an active agent in the public life of its neighborhood and the City.
In Moscow, they recently completed Zaryadye Park, the first large-scale park to be built in the city in the last fifty years. In London, the Tide is a 5-kilometre network of public spaces and gardens embedded into the daily rhythms of London’s Greenwich Peninsula.
Kathryn Gustafson and Neil Porter have over 60 years of experience between them and are known for creating distinctive and sustainable landscapes for diverse places and climates, while always responding to human needs and aspirations.
Among the outstanding works of their office is the memorial fountain to Diana, Princess of Wales in London, the Westergasfabriek Park in Amsterdam, Central Park in Valencia, and their current work on Site Tour Eiffel, Paris.
Gustafson Porter + Bowman are joined by local landscape architecture practice, Citerea, headed by Ana Luengo in Madrid.
b720 works on architectural and urban projects around the world from their Madrid and Barcelona offices. Their work include some outstanding public space transformation and architectural projects like the Encants Barcelona Market, the WPP Campus la Matriz in Madrid, the Spanish Pavilion at the Milano Expo and the Forma Itaim tower in São Paulo.
Some of b720 works have been produced in collaboration with prestigious international colleagues in Spain like The America’s Cup building in Valencia with David Chipperfield Architects and the Agbar tower with Ateliers Jean Nouvel, Currently the design of the New Stadium of Futbol Club Barcelona.
